BASMA directly provides all the medicines that are not available in the public cancer units in Damascus hospitals (The Children’s Hospital, Al-Beirouni Hospital, The National University Hospital, Al-Mouwassat Hospital). Since its inception more than 7,600 children with cancer from all the Syrian governorates has benefited from this program.
BASMA provides accommodation for families commuting to Damascus for medical treatment, as well as meal provisions and transportation. This service alleviates the travel burden on families and encourages them to continue their children’s treatment without interruption.
