This program aims to support the families of children with cancer to afford the costs of the expensive treatment in private medical centers. It is based on the parents’ decision to treat their children in private medical centers in Damascus or in other specialized centers outside Syria without being referred by BASMA Association. As a part of the program, BASMA provides a large part of the costs of the treatment for the children with cancer. This program has started in 2007 with an average of 23 cases yearly, but the annual cases received has been increasing due to higher awareness about cancer and better treatment opportunities available due to the quality of services that BASMA offers.
